Fish Spa Treatment

The newest exotic therapy hailing from Turkey, the fish spa treatment is an extremely effective (and a little indulgent) form of skin exfoliation. Hundreds of tiny doctor fish nibble away at dead skin, causing a slight tingling sensation (the treatment is painless as the fish are toothless and do not eat live cells). Observe the immediate benefits of smoother glowing skin and increased blood circulation. Enjoy the latest in rare sensory experiences at Anantara Spa with a range of treatments to refresh and rejuvenate.

Personal Consultations

Naturopathic Consultation

Naturopathy is a holistic medicinal approach which focuses on treating the whole person, not just specific symptoms. The human body has an innate ability for self-healing, with the right support. This session will evaluate your health status, energy levels, body functions and overall vitality, and then consider the use of nutritional and herbal supplements and other naturopathic treatments to address the health concerns identified.

Lifestyle Consultation

In this brief lifestyle consultation, Dr. Gopal determines your body constitution before advising the best treatments for you to rejuvenate yourself while avoiding further stress and damage.

Ayurvedic Consultation

This is an analysis of your body's constitution according to the three ‘Doshas' - Vata, Pitta and Kapha - in order to determine your current state of health. Learn to balance your Doshas and enhance your lifestyle through diet, exercise, mind relaxation and Ayurvedic treatment programmes.

Ayurvedic Treatments

Shirodhara

60 Minutes

"Shiro" means Head and "Dhara" means Flow. They come together in Shirodhara, the practice of applying a continuous, gentle flow of warm oil to the forehead, focusing on the area between the brows known in Ayurvedic belief as the "Third Eye". With its relation to the constant flow of life, this procedure profoundly coordinates and calms the mind, body and spirit, enhancing blood circulation to the brain, improving memory, nourishing the hair and scalp and generally aiding in release of stress and tension.

Floral Foot Ritual - Shirodhara - Shower - Refreshment

Indian Head Massage

45 Minutes

Based on Ayurvedic principles, this soothing yet energising massage combines pressure point techniques and coconut oil to relieve tension in the head and neck. While restoring tranquillity, this massage can also help to relieve insomnia, chronic headaches, migraines and sinusitis.

Breathe Easy (Nasyam)

60 Minutes

Nasyam is an important Ayurvedic treatment in which medicated herbal preparations, decoctions, oils and ghee are applied through the nose. The area around the nose, chest, palms and foot are then vigorously massaged.

Benefits: This treatment removes mucous clogs, stimulates the brain cells and central nervous system and clears the head, alleviating neck problems, headaches and migraine. It is also highly effective in treating sinusitis and chronic cold.

Kati Vasthi

Specially-prepared warm medicated oil and a herbal paste are applied to the lower back and left on for 45 minutes to an hour.

Benefits: This is a special treatment for disorders of the spine. It strengthens the back muscles, prevents bone degeneration and can also prevent nerve compression. It is a very effective treatment for spondylosis, post-traumatic problems, including sports injuries, and any type of back pain.

Netra Tarpana

A special Ayurvedic treatment designed to provide optimum rejuvenation for the eyes. Dough of Urad (black gram) is applied around the eye to create a little dam. Then herbal healing ghee (clarified butter oil) or sheerabala thilam is poured into this groove and kept warm for 30-35 minutes to lubricate the eye and surrounding areas. Highly recommended for those who work regularly with computers, operate machinery, or drive for long periods and anyone suffering from tired, aching, sore eyes.

Benefits: Relieves strain due to constant glaring at the computer or TV screen, refractive errors of the eyes, chronic conjunctivitis, corneal ulcers, dry eye syndrome, eye diseases from toxic aggravation, and glaucoma. Helps to prevent early formation of cataracts, improper coordination, eye strain, pain and a burning sensation in the eyes.

Balance Mind and Body

Hot Stone Therapy

60 Minutes

Hot stone massage is a specialty technique using smooth, heated stones - often basalt, a black volcanic rock that absorbs and retains heat well. The therapist sanitizes the stones, heats them in 120 to 150-degree water, and applies them to the body with strokes of Swedish massage.

Benefits: This deeply soothing massage releases tightness in the muscles, stimulates the nervous system and effectively boosts circulation.

Body Mud Therapy

45 Minutes

A paste of clay is applied to the entire body through massage and, once dried, is washed off with a cleansing bath.

Benefits: The secret to youthful skin, mud therapy relieves the body from stress-related problems, calms the senses and rejuvenates mind and body.

Acupressure Massage & Reflexology

90 Minutes

The underlying principle of this ancient art is that specific pressure points on the soles of the feet directly relate to bodily organs, glands and systems. Using the fingers to press these key points on the skin's surface stimulates the body's natural self-curative abilities.

Benefits: As all major body parts and areas are represented on the feet, the benefits of reflexology are numerous. It may be used therapeutically to alleviate everyday complaints such as headaches, menstrual, joint and muscle pain. Regular foot massage also provides highly beneficial preventative effects as it keeps the body's systems in good balance.

Herbal Body Mask

45 Minutes

The Herbal Body Mask stimulates your skin while it smoothes, exfoliates, tones and firms.

Plantain Leaf Bath

45 Minutes

This relaxing leaf bath stimulates circulation for refreshed skin.

Yoga

Yoga and Vitality Retreat

60 Minutes

Expand your yoga practice in our spa garden or on the beach, along with individualised yoga and lifestyle consultations.

Hatha Yoga

This most common and gentle form of yoga focuses on basic postures that flow in and out with emphasis on breathing techniques. Hatha yoga includes all physical types of yoga and is rooted in the types found below.

Pranayama Yoga

"Prana" is the basic vital energy in the body responsible for life. By extension, "Pranayama" is the control of the breath to achieve a healthy body and mind.

Dynamic Yoga

Provides equilibrium for the upper and lower body, completely utilising the shoulders, hip joints, thighs, calves and hamstrings which help build and maintain strength and stamina in the legs. Prana Vashya is distinguished by its unique approach to flow and balance.

 Kriya Yoga

The Kriya technique emphasises the relationship between breath and mind, with the breath influencing the mind and vice versa. This reciprocal relationship reveals the secret of controlling the mind: "Breath control is self-control."

Ashtanga Yoga

Ashtanga yoga is appropriate for those who want a serious workout from yoga, and is not just for leisure. In this form of yoga, the student moves through a series of flows, jumping from one posture to another to build strength, flexibility and stamina.

Cyclic Meditation

A greater effort, both physical and mental, is required for this type of yoga, in which the postures are executed at a slower pace. This practice is a useful way to train one's self-control, to increase awareness of the self and prevent thoughts from wandering.

Yoga Diet on the Beach

A yoga diet is an essential aspect of any true yogic pursuit. Make sure to have a well-balanced diet and always eat in moderation. This session covers several important aspects of the Yoga Diet amidst the serenity of our private beach.
